Working With Trauma In The Body
Thankfully there is a lot more awareness in our society about the prevalence of trauma, and its impact.
It does bring up the question of ‘‘how can I work with my own trauma’’?
To begin, it’s important to understand that trauma is energy that is stuck in the body. Often, it happened at a moment when we were unable to feel what was happening.
Our patterns live in our body
Embodiment is an incredibly important part of a spiritual journey.
Because the body doesn’t lie.
It holds our life force energy - and it also holds our wounds, memories and stuck energy.
So healing at the level of the body is absolutely foundational when we desire to experience a lasting transformation.
Embodiment is the first step of a Spiritual journey
What does it mean to be embodied?
It’s all about being able to bring our attention down into our body.
Feeling the sensations that are present there.
Can you feel a tingling, a warmth, maybe a heaviness or a swirling sensation?
Bringing out attention down into the body is what allows us to be present with ourselves.
And it requires practice.
Working with Anxiety
Anxiety can be described as the state of having too much energy circulating in the mind.
It’s basically energy that doesn’t have a clear and aligned direction to follow.
To live in the mind
To live in the mind is to live in hell.
There is no greater well-being, in this lifetime, than the one of resting in your own energy, without a thought.
