Working With Your Mind: A Feminine Embodiment Practice

To me the practice of feminine embodiment is about cultivating an inner world that feels good to be in.

That our experience every day of being in ourselves is one that brings joy, nourishment and inspiration into our lives.

Now, sometimes our mind is the party pooper. The Debbie Downer of our inner experience.

And I say this with humour. But also, I know from experience that when the mind is left unchecked, it can bring us down deep rabbit holes of anxiety, judgements and self-doubt.

So the relationship we have with our mind is very important to our sanity and wellbeing.

There is a beautiful book by Michael A. Singer that I love called ‘’The Untethered Soul’’.

In it, he talks about the voice in our head and he calls it the Inner Roommate.

It’s an invitation to notice what our mind says as if it were a roommate inside of us.

When we can observe it, we are creating a very important distance. This deepens our capacity to not get caught up in our thoughts.

To continue stay grounded in ourselves, in our body.

And to notice ‘‘Oh, my mind is saying this - how interesting.’’

The more we practice staying in our body and rooted in ourselves, the more the mind quiets down.

So the practice I invite you to experiment with is to notice what your mind says, as if you were listening to an inner roommate - and you don’t need to believe what they say.

We will explore this topic in depth at the Feminine Embodiment Workshop this Sunday, November 1st 2026 @10am-1pm.

There will be written exercises, teachings, somatic guidance and energy clearing.

It’s a three-hour workshop that will support you in letting go of mental patterns that are no longer serving you.

It will be held at Inner Arts Collective on the Danforth and I’ll have coffee, tea and muffins to make it cozy.
